The Department of Taxation, Accounting & Finance of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics is seeking to fill the following vacancy as soon as possible:
W2 – University Professor (f/m/d) in Finance and Accounting
The successful candidate has to represent research and teaching in the field of finance and accounting. We are looking for a person whose research portfolio complements the department’s research in finance while connecting to topics in accounting, especially to the collaborative Research Center TRR 265 Accounting for Transparency. Research on banking-related issues is expected, as well as work on the impact of accounting information on financial markets or regulation in the area of reporting, taxation and controlling. Work on sustainability in finance or on the resilience of financial markets and companies is also desired.
The professorship will be established In the Department of Taxation, Accounting & Finance. The candidate is expected to show a high level of commitment to both research and teaching. The successful candidate’s research and teaching agenda should demonstrate compatibility with that of the Department of Taxation, Accounting & Finance and that of the Collaborative Research Center TRR 266 Accounting for Transparency. 5he/ he will be working in an attractive scientific environment which is based on both, empirical and analytical research methods. Collaborative work in research with colleagues from the department is expected and highly desired, e.g., joint working on research papers and joint applications for future research funding. Excellence in research must be demonstrated through, among other things, publications in relevant high-quality journals related to finance. The candidate is actively involved in (inter-)national networks and in the acquisition of third-party funding.
The successful candidate will teach on courses of all study programs in the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics and the major field of Taxation, Accounting & Finance, at all degree levels, including the doctoral programme. The ability to teach courses in English is particular desirable, in line with Paderborn University’s international approach. The candidate is expected to collaborate across disciplines within the faculty and has to participate In academic self-governance.
