Call for Papers: 32nd Annual Meeting of the German Finance Association

32nd Annual Meeting of the German Finance Association (DGF)
at Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf and WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management on September 24-26, 2026

We cordially invite researchers and practitioners to participate in the 32nd Annual Meeting of the German Finance Association (DGF) to be held at Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf and WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management on September 24-26, 2026.

The conference aims to bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss the latest theoretical and empirical research from all areas of finance, banking, and insurance.

Call for Papers

We invite submissions of recent research papers. Guidelines for the submission are:

  • Submissions are free of charge for DGF members. If you are not currently a DGF member, there will be a submission fee of €40.
  • Submissions are only accepted through the online submission system: https://www.conftool.pro/dgf2026/
    The submission period is from March 1 to April 15, 2026 (11:59 pm).
  • Submissions are subject to a double-blind review process. Thus, papers have to be submitted in an anonymous format (no references to authors or affiliations).
  • Only full papers in English (pdf format) are considered for review. Papers should be accompanied by an abstract of no more than 120 words.

Keynote

We are pleased to announce that Professor Renée B Adams from Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford has agreed to give the keynote address. Professor Adams received her PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago and held positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the Stockholm School of Economics, the University of Queensland and the University of New South Wales and visiting positions in Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Sweden and the US. She is a Fellow of the European Corporate Governance Institute. She has published in leading economics and finance journals, including the American Economic Review, the Review of Economic Studies, the Journal of Finance, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Financial Economics, and the Management Science.

Best Paper Award

The best overall paper and the best doctoral paper will both be awarded prizes.

Best Paper Award Celebration

On Friday, September 25, the Best Paper Award Celebration will take place at Schiffchen im Goldenen Ring in the old town of Düsseldorf.

Pre-conference Doctoral Workshop

A doctoral workshop will take place on Thursday, September 24.

Women in Finance

On Thursday, September 24, a women-in-finance event will take place. Exclusively female participants may register for this workshop at no additional cost during the general conference registration process.

Get-together

All participants are cordially invited to a get-together on Thursday, September 24 starting at 6 pm at the Campus of the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management (Krautkrämer Building, Erkratherstr. 224a, 40233 Düsseldorf).

Special Issue of the Journal of Business Economics

Submissions accepted for presentation are also eligible for inclusion in a special issue of the Journal of Business Economics. There will be a separate call on the journal homepage with an independent submission process. This is not the official publication outlet of the DGF.

The St.Gallen Institute of Management in Asia of the University of St.Gallen seeks to hire for its Singapore Office a

Research Associate in Private Equity

per August 1, 2026 or mutual agreement.

Entry level candidates with a master degree in Banking and/or Finance and aim to pursue academic oriented research activities. Candidates for this position are expected to enroll in the PhD program at the University of St.Gallen. The position is based in Singapore and allows to experience the advantages of being located in Asia – one of the world’s most dynamic regions.

Responsibilities

– Joining a dedicated team in order to further develop the University’s presence in Asia

– Contributing to research in the areas of private equity and venture capital

– Supporting the institute’s teaching and project initiatives
